THE ART OF BALANCE

Filler at its best is quiet. Carefully placed volume that aims to restore contour and balance, so you look rested and still entirely yourself.

TAILORED TO EACH FEATURE

Areas we treat

Each area calls for its own gel, depth and technique. We assess your face as a whole first, then treat only where it will bring balance.

Cheeks

Restores lost volume and a gentle lift to the mid-face for a softer, rested look.

Lips

Subtle shape, definition and hydration, always in proportion with your features.

Jawline

Adds structure and definition along the jaw to bring balance to your profile.

Chin

Refines projection and shape so the lower face sits in harmony with the rest.

Temples

Softens hollowing at the temples for a smoother, more balanced upper face.

Under-eyes

Where suitable, carefully placed filler can soften hollows beneath the eyes.

What is dermal filler?

Dermal filler is a hyaluronic acid gel that can restore volume and lift the soft tissues of the face. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your skin, where it holds moisture and keeps skin plump, but levels fall as we age. Carefully placed filler replaces some of this lost support, smoothing folds, restoring contours and adding gentle definition.

At A Aesthetics, our medical team offers dermal filler in Coleraine and Derry/Londonderry for the cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, temples and under-eye area. We aim to enhance your features rather than change them, so you still look like yourself. If filler ever needs correcting, we also offer filler dissolving.

What dermal filler can help with

Filler is tailored to each area of the face, from subtle lip definition to restoring cheek volume. Your practitioner will recommend the areas that will make the most natural difference for you.

How dermal filler works

Hyaluronic acid filler does different jobs depending on where it is placed and which gel is chosen.

Restoring volume

Placed deeper, a firmer gel replaces lost volume in areas such as the cheeks and temples, gently lifting the tissues above.

Defining contours

Along the jawline and chin, filler adds structure and definition to bring balance to your profile.

Softening and shaping

Softer gels smooth folds and add shape and hydration to the lips, for a result that moves naturally with your face.

Dermal filler FAQs

Most people find it very manageable. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and we can apply numbing cream beforehand. The lips tend to be the most sensitive area.

Downtime is minimal. You may have some swelling, tenderness or bruising for 24 to 48 hours, sometimes a little longer for the lips and under-eyes. Most people return to normal activities straight away.

You will usually see an improvement straight away. Results settle over around two weeks once any swelling has gone down.

It depends on the area and the product used. As a guide, lip and under-eye filler typically lasts 6 to 8 months, jawline 8 to 12 months, and cheeks and chin 12 to 18 months. Your body gradually breaks the filler down naturally.

That is our priority. We use carefully judged amounts to enhance your features in proportion, and we would always rather build gradually than overdo it.

Filler is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection or cold sore in the area, or with certain medical conditions. We check your medical history thoroughly at your consultation.

Yes. Filler is often planned alongside skin boosters or polynucleotides to improve skin quality, and we will advise on timing at your consultation.
