What is skin analysis?
Our skin analysis uses the Observ 520x, an advanced imaging system that photographs your skin under a range of specialised lights. Each light reveals something the naked eye cannot, from sun damage and pigmentation beneath the surface to pore size, redness, vascularity and texture. It is quick, comfortable and completely non-invasive.

How skin analysis works
The Observ 520x captures your skin under different light modes, each showing a different layer of information.
Daylight and polarised light
Daylight mode shows your skin as others see it, while cross-polarised and parallel-polarised modes bring redness, pigmentation, fine lines and surface texture into sharper focus.
UV and True UV light
Ultraviolet modes highlight sun damage and pigmentation that has not yet reached the surface, along with signs of congestion in the pores.
Complexion analysis
We bring the images together, explain what we see and agree your priorities, so your treatments and home skincare are chosen with confidence.

Does skin analysis hurt?
Skin analysis is non-invasive and comfortable. You simply rest your face in the device while images are taken under different lights. There are no needles, no heat and nothing to recover from.
How long does it take?
The imaging itself only takes a few minutes. We allow extra time to go through your results with you and talk about the options that suit your skin.
Should I arrive without make-up?
It helps to arrive with clean skin if you can, but do not worry if not. We can cleanse your skin in clinic before we begin so the images are accurate.
What can skin analysis show?
The Observ 520x can reveal pigmentation and sun damage beneath the surface, redness and visible blood vessels, pore size, congestion, fine lines and texture. Many of these are hard or impossible to see in normal light.

How often should I have my skin analysed?
